Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing therapy that promotes relaxation and balance. Reiki is made of two Japanese words: Rei, which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power," and Ki which is "life force energy." It involves the transfer of energy from practitioner to client to promote healing and well-being. Dr. Mikao Usui founded the Usui Reiki Healing System in the 1920s based on his healing knowledge/experience during his journey. It was then introduced to the West by Mrs. Hawayo Takata in the 1930's.
Reiki is practiced worldwide and is used in many settings, including hospitals and hospices. Some major Michigan hospitals use Reiki as a complementary healing technique. Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice.
Reiki is a noninvasive therapy that treats holistically and increases life energy. It promotes balanced energy to support self-healing. It is a loving, guided energy for mind, body, and soul. In a session, a practitioner will provide a Reiki healing technique to the client through the hands. The hands are lightly placed on or near the body in various positions around the head, shoulders, stomach, and feet. During the session, you might feel a warming sensation, a tingling sensation, or nothing at all but sheer relaxation. Reiki energy has its own innate wisdom; it goes where it is needed.
Reiki can help alleviate a range of physical and emotional issues, including stress, anxiety, chronic pain, and more. It can also enhance your overall sense of well-being and help you achieve a greater sense of peace and balance in your life. Reiki can complement your healing journey with a licensed physician or other licensed healthcare professional.
Distance Reiki treatments are as effective as in-person treatments. The Reiki practitioner learns and receives three symbols, one of which is the "distance symbol." When invoked and used by the Reiki practitioner, the symbol allows the practitioner to send healing energy across time and space. Through this power of intention and energy connection, the practitioner can work with the client from the comfort of the client's own home.

Access Bars® is a gentle touch treatment with similar effects to meditation. It provides relaxation, quiets a racing mind, reduces stress, boosts one's mood, and increases mental clarity.
The Access Bars, referred to as "Bars," are a set of 32 points on the head that, when lightly touched, stimulate positive change in the brain. They help to release energetic blockages of stress, thought, and emotion. The main feedback from sessions includes a more peaceful mind, an improved outlook on life, an ability to sleep better, and increased energy and creativity. Access Bars® is a hands-on modality developed by Gary Douglas, the Founder, who works alongside Dr. Dan Heer, the Co-Creator.
The client lies on a massage table or sits on a chair while a practitioner lightly holds specific points on the head. A session can last between 30 to 90 minutes, after which most people report feeling more relaxed and calmer.
Access Bars is a potent and pragmatic tool used by families, schools, businesses, athletes, psychologists, artists, and even in prisons. Employers are now integrating 30-minute Access Bars “recharge” sessions into their workplace well-being programs.
The effects of Access Bars are individual to each person and differ from session to session. However, recipients have reported that a session of Access Bars can help with the following:
→ Greater mental clarity and reduced stress
→ Enhanced motivation and easier communication
→ Significant increase in feelings of joy, happiness, gratitude, kindness and peace
→ Positive effects on migraines and insomnia
→ Increase in calmness, creativity and contentment
→ Enhanced mental health: reduced symptoms of depression, anxiety, panic attacks, ADD, ADHD and OCD
→ Greater intuitive awareness
Access Bars do not interfere with any conventional or alternative treatments or therapy. Most people find that Access Bars enhances the effects of their meditative practice and, in many instances, life becomes a meditation, and they react much less to life’s stressors
